As you are aware, the University has been following the recent events regarding the recent U.S. Executive Order preventing individuals from entering the United States for a period of 90 days. President Ono has issued an official statement in response to the Executive Order, which can be accessed here: http://president.ubc.ca/featured/2017/01/29/statement-in-response-to-u-s-executive-order/
This is understandably a difficult time for many prospective students and the administration at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the School of Library, Archival and Information studies (SLAIS, the iSchool@UBC) would like to extend our admissions deadlines to accommodate any of those who may have been affected.
Students who are interested in studying at UBC Vancouver, Canada Point Grey campus in one of the following programs are encouraged to apply by the new deadline of Tuesday February 28th, 2017. Our deadline for all supporting documents including reference letters, language scores etc will be Friday March 10th, 2017.
- Master of Library and Information Studies (ALA accredited)
- Master of Archival Studies
- Dual Master of Archival Studies/Master of Library and Information Studies (ALA accredited)
