Adjunct faculty, Kathy Shoemaker and Allison Taylor McBryde, on behalf of the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY Canada), invite you to view and read books from the new “From Sea to sea to sea: Celebrating Indigenous Picture Books” collection. These books are from private and library collections brought together at the iSchool to increase awareness of the beauty and diversity of Indigenous literature for young children. IBBY’s mandate is to “foster understanding and friendship between children of different cultures.” Samples of the catalog will be available – students are free to browse the collection but please do not remove from the lounge. And the catalogue is also available online. The IBBY website also has background information and interviews with several of the Indigenous creators.
