Adjunct Professors – Term Appointments


Winter Terms 1&2 2019-2020

UBC iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies) will offer a number of part-time Adjunct teaching appointments for the coming year. An Adjunct Professor is expected to prepare and teach a 3-credit offering in one of the terms.   The current salary amount for one three-credit course is approximately $8,000 for the period of appointment.  Each course comprises approximately 13 classes of three hours each.

Adjunct faculty who have already applied and been approved to teach in 2019-2020 do not need to reapply at this time.


Winter 2019-2020:   The period of appointment is September – December or January – April.

We are seeking instructors to teach in the areas of public librarianship, records management and information policy.  Specifically, we are seeking instructors for the following courses.

  • LIBR 504/ARST 570: Management of information organizations
  • ARST 500: Information technology and archives
  • LIBR 514G/ARST 556E: Records system in the digital environment
  • LIBR 516: Information asset management (introductory records management)

The iSchool will consider applicants with master’s degrees in the field of library, archival and information studies and relevant professional experience.
